Wind Damage

Last weekend brought severe winds that caused a lot of damage in the area, included downed trees everywhere. If only I had our wood burning stove installed to take advantage of all the free "fuel" laying around here.

Skateboarding is Not a Crime

Ironically, while photographing skateboarders for a news story about opening a local skate park to give the kids a place to skate safely, I almost got smacked by a skateboard that flew from underfoot, under a passing car, which clipped the side and shot the board right back at us - just a few feet from my head. Hope they open that skatepark soon...

Finally Our Snow Turn

Perhaps the irony of ironies: my local firehouse (rural lingo for fire station) has a new building under construction which burned yesterday. I guess the fire crew didn't have far to go...

Winter Wonderland - ice style

Two weekends ago, here in upstate New York, we had a major ice storm that left over a million people with out power. The trees were so heavily weighted down with ice, that they fell within hours, taking out power lines, cars, roadways, and everything else in the path. This photo shows the massive amount of ice, as well as the trees along the bottom bending in an arc.
